Once again I am behind. We were out of town most of the weekend at the CAA tournament (where we upset James Madison, but ended up losing in the quarterfinals) and I decided not to bring my laptop with me. It was nice to get away from it for a day or two but also a bit overwhelming to come back to. It was an absolutely wonderful weekend, though and Lillie was in heaven. She was quite disappointed when we had to head back home yesterday morning. So, as always, I am horribly behind on e-mails. I promise I am slowly making my way through them but it may take a while.
I have quite a few posts I want to get to including the ruffled shade tutorial, my sister's apartment, a bunch of Easter projects I want to get a head start on (seeing how the baby will probably be making her appearance sometime around then, I figure I had better get them done early) and I also want to work on fixing up one of our old bookshelves, our entry way and our dining room chairs, and making some new silhouette pillows for our sofa and hopefully for the shop. Because I haven't had time to get to any of those yet, though, for this post I figured seeing how I don't think I have ever shown our kitchen here on the blog I would share a few photos that I took for Jennifer for the COTM feature.
Part of why I haven't ever shown it here is because we really didn't do a whole lot in the kitchen. In most of the rooms we have done a gazillion projects but here all we did was a little painting. We did paint the cabinets (I put my poor sisters to work helping me with those and let me just say I don't think any of us will EVER be giving a tutorial on painting kitchen cabinets - it was a nightmare!). They are Ballet White by Benjamin Moore, which is one of my favorite colors. We painted the bar stools that color too. And then we painted the small amount of wall space in this room Ashley Gray, also by Benjamin Moore and that was really about it.
I had been hoping to have a bunch of our new screenprinted items (sweatshirts, tanks, tees and even a few dresses) available today but they aren't quite ready yet. Hopefully we will have a few available to list tomorrow and then will be adding some each day as they get finished over the next several days. However, we do finally have some Je T'aime Pillow Covers BACK IN STOCK as well as a few more Audrey Hepburn ones and even a few Rêve ones as well! Just head on over to our shop if you are interested in any of them.
And now for the winner of our Rêve pillow cover!
Congratulations to Mickey!!!!
Please contact us at dearlillie@hotmail.com
within the next 48 hours with your address so we can ship it on out to you!
(If we don't hear from you by Wednesday night we will draw a new winner.)
And here's another picture of my munchkin wearing the white dress my mom made her. You STILL can't see the dress so I have given up and I took photos of it on the dress form yesterday afternoon. I am hoping once the weather gets a little warmer I can get a good shot of her wearing it outside.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! And check back soon as we will be having another giveaway later this week!

Love your kitchen! Can you please, pretty please tell me where you got your wallpaper in your dining room? I've searched everywhere trying to find something similar.
ReplyDeleteI just love your kitchen - you photograph it beautifully. And your daughter couldn't be any more adorable :)
ReplyDeleteI painted my cabinets as well... I agree NEVER again. It was a pain in the butt. :) Where do you find your glass domes? I LOVE them. :)
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is very nice, and I am curious about the cabinets~were they maple? I have maple cabs and am dying to paint them...love the damask paper too!

ReplyDeletelove that picture of lilly! bet she is getting excited to be a big sister!
Love your kitchen, the colors are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing! xoxo Beth
ReplyDeleteMagazine worthy! Just gorgeous! I have a white kitchen too and just love it. We are undergoing a kitchen re-do in April. I am having someone in to paint the kitchen. You are a brave girl, and have a very nice sister to do it yourself.
ReplyDeleteYou have also saved a ton of $$$$$$. Painting our kitchen is going to cost $8,000.00! But I just don't have the time or the energy to do the whole things. We have lots of cabinets.
Sorry, I did not want this to be about me.
YOur style is so gracious, warm and upscale. I could cook all day in your kitchen!
Yvonne
Your kitchen is beautiful Jenni!! It has been so long since I have blogged and I did not even see this giveaway. We bought a little children's boutique the end of February and I have been working around the clock to get it ready for spring. I miss your posts and promise to catch up on them all soon. Hope you are feeling great and enjoying the nesting stages of your pregnancy. xoxo
ReplyDeleteSimply breathtaking! It makes me want to completely re-do everything in our house! My husband is already hiding.....
ReplyDeleteits no surprise that your kitchen is as lovely as the rest of the house and makes me want to copy it (as much as i can with let's say NO budget). :)
ReplyDeleteso glad to hear you had a laptop free weekend and got to enjoy your family and make some memories. :) you'll catch up on emails in no time! and we'll aniously await your next blog post... as we all always do. hehehe.
*anxiously
ReplyDeleteI bet you get the - why don't you have more cabinet space in your kitchen all the time right! I have the same set up, wall of appliances and cabinets, giant island with sink and lower cabinets. Best set up ever - so nice to see someone else who has the same. To me more cabinets would be too much kitchen clutter. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous! I adore your whole house...it is so beautifully serene and invitingly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAwww nuts, no pillow cover for me! Guess I'll go order one! Hahaha!
I LOVE my daily visits to your blog!
Happy Monday!
You have an absolutely gorgeous home! It is stunning! :) You have done a great job at making your house, a HOME. :)
ReplyDeleteCreamy whites mixed with grey....so lovely! I adore this kitchen. So happy to have discovered your blog. We live in No VA and our daughter will be a freshman at William and Mary next year. We're looking forward to discovering more about Williamsburg.
ReplyDeleteI think your house is my dream house (: I love your kitchen!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Like I am surprised!!! I want to move into your house. Today. Just leave everything for me! That picture of Lillie... oh my heart. That is beautiful! Do you use an action on it or play with the colors yourself? Stunning!
ReplyDeleteI was hoping to get the black Je t'aime pillow cover. Can you let me know if Kathy doesn't get it? Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteSarah - I ordered it off of American Blinds and Wallpaper online. I can't for the life of me remember who it was by though. I have looked for the extra roll to see if it says it on the box or on the back of the paper but haven't been able to find it.
Amanda - the glass domes were wedding gifts. They were from Pottery Barn about 4 and a half years ago. I think they still sell the domes, just not sure they still sell the stands.
Amy - Sorry, I don't know what they were. They were kind of a mahogany/cherry color but I don't know what they were actually made of.
Yvonne - Can't wait to see your kitchen remodel!
Congrats Mande! That is so exciting! Will try to e-mail you here soon!
Julie - I am sure your daughter will love W&M. We have absolutely fallen in love with Williamsburg.
JemsMom - I edited it myself first and then ran Florabellas Black and White Blush over it. I don't think I did it at 100%, though. I can't remember.
Rosalyn - Sorry - we sold out of those really quickly again. I already have another woman lined up for it if she doesn't buy it. However, I am hoping to have another batch available again next Monday.
I wish I could "just paint my cabinets and walls" and my kitchen turn out as pretty as yours! We did have our cabs and walls painted only about 2 years ago and now I want to repaint the wall color like yours...but that will have to wait, if I even mention repainting to husband, I only get the silent treatment.
ReplyDeleteTake care!
Judy
love your kitchen...please tell where you got the cannisters and who sells them. thanks. don't know if your kitchen, as pretty as it is, could hold a candle to lovely little Lillie!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the kitchen, your colors are perfect, the ballet white is wonderful with the darker color! Your whole house and the all colors in it flow so beautifully...
ReplyDeleteCindy
Love love the kitchen. Any idea where I can get one of those wire basket chandeliers. Would love to have one in my dining room! Have seen them in mags but never for sale anywhere.
ReplyDeleteI love your kitchen! I can agree with you that the cabinets are a job to paint. I just finished painting my cabinets; oh, my I know I will not be doing that again anytime soon!I went with Benjamin Moore's Wood Ash(which is a cream color). I love Benjamin Moore paint!
ReplyDeleteTake care...Jodi
Love your kitchen Jennifer. It's beautiful, just like the rest of your house. I've been wanting to paint my cabinets and woodwork white...I think I'll have to do a bit more pestering before the Mister caves in though.
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful kitchen and a lovely home. I just stumbled upon your blog the other day and love it! your photography is beautiful, you daughter is adoreable and your home is georgous. It is fun to learn that you live in Williamsburg. My mother lives in Govenors Land. Where do you go antiquing? I love some of the items that you bought and the prices are great! Anyway, keep up the beautiful work. I can't wait to buy one of your tutu's for my neices.
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is so beautiful! You have a great style! You inspire me to go with what I originally wanted to do in my house, thanks! I love the color palette that you have used.
Hugs, Cindy
I LOVE every bit of your home!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your home! And, I think I remember you from RMS? I love Williamsburg ... I grew up in Richmond, VA and graduated from ODU. By chance, does your husband coach at William and Mary? My mom and sisters graduated from there. Thanks for sharing your amazing talent! *Becca*

Just looooove your home! It all flows so beautifully together and looks cozy chic! And I can't get over how adorable Lillie is!!
ReplyDeleteDiscovered your blog last week via another blogger and I am in love with your home! So beautiful--and your daughter is too precious for words. Looking for something similar to the large wood bowl/platter on your dining room table, do you know where it is from???
ReplyDeletei love your kitchen...what are the paint colors in your kitchen and other rooms shouwing on the pics
ReplyDeleteI simply L.O.V.E your kitchen and decor..it's just oh so beautiful and classy! I am curious about the wooden sign hanging in your kitchen area...it's above your table with the lamp and black boxes. I have some boards that would be perfect for making a sign similar and was wondering if you could tell me what the words/graphics are on yours? I'd love to make one for my kitchen! Thank you so very much for your talented inspiration!!

Thanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteJudy - haha! My husband is gone a lot with recruiting and games so I save most of my big projects for when he is out of town that way he doesn't have a heart attack when I start them =)
The Other Me is Sane - The canisters were wedding gifts from Williams-Sonoma. They are from about four and a half years ago so I am not sure if they still have them or not.
2Belles2Beaux4me - Unfortunately I don't have any ideas for you. I got mine at a store here in Williamsburg two and a half years ago and we went back to see if they could order some for my sister's wedding two years ago and they couldn't get anymore. We looked everywhere for something similar but didn't have any luck. =(
Bobbi - I am so jealous that your mother lives in Governor's Land. It is so beautiful out there. We often drive over there (we live about 5 minutes away) and go walking with Lillie. I go to the Williamsburg Antique Mall some, but don't often find much there. Most of the good stuff I have found up in New Hampshire.
Becca - Yes, my husband is on of the assistant basketball coaches at William and Mary. We love it here!
Anonymous - the dough bowl was a wedding gift from an antique shop in SC. I have seen quite a few when I have been at antique malls - some have been really well-priced and some of been ridiculously expensive.
Linda - All of our paint colors can be found here:
http://theoldpaintedcottage.com/pages/cotm-march-11.htm Just scroll to the bottom
Terrell - If you go here http://theoldpaintedcottage.com/pages/cotm-march-11.htm you can see a close up of the wooden sign
I just adore your home. It is absolutely gorgeous! My husband and I love Williamsburg, we stay at a local B&B there and always enjoy our time.
ReplyDeleteI would like to enter the contest for the giveaway.

Thanks!
Hello- Your kitchen has inspired me to get started on my redo. It is time to say goodbye to orange oak cabinets!!! Can you tell me where you got your barstools? I love the turned legs on the front. Thanks! Michaelle michaellewerner@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteMichaelle - I got the barstools online at JCPenney about two and a half years ago. They were the cheapest ones I could find in that style. (I think I paid around $50 - $60 each). I ordered them in an ivory color but when they came they were much more of a butter yellow color so I repainted them Ballet White by Benjamin Moore. Hope that helps!
ReplyDeletejust so love the blog, wih i could show you some pictures of things i have copied from you. rene branson
ReplyDeleteToday I broke one of my two glass pastry pedestals in my kitchen. I'm glad it was me that broke them, but I am in a panic to replace them because they were two of my favorite pieces in the kitchen. The two you have on your bar look a little sturdier than what I had before... do you mind me asking where you got them??
ReplyDeleteHope beautiful little baby Lola is doing well.
