Silhouette Easter Egg Tutorial
Not too long ago I saw some adorable silhouette eggs on Pinterest. They were too colorful for my decor but I loved the idea! Then later I saw some beautiful tea-stained eggs here on Southern Living's website. I decided to try to mix the two ideas and was really happy with how it turned out.
So, here is how I started. First, I cut out several images on my silhouette machine. Now, I know most people don't have a silhouette machine. You can use this tutorial over at Le Papier Studio if you don't, or if you want to make it really easy, you can purchase these same little vinyl stickers from our shop.
Next I boiled a whole bunch of eggs. I let them sit for a few minutes until I was able to hold them (but they still need to be hot) and then attached the vinyl silhouettes on them. I actually left some just like this because I really like how they looked without even dying the eggs.
Then once the eggs had cooled a little more I dipped them in a strong cup of coffee. I also dipped some in a VERY strong cup of tea (I think I used about four tea bags for it). I let them sit in there for a little while until I got the color I wanted.
Now, if you don't press the vinyl down very well or do it when the eggs have completely cooled they might end up looking like this.
Now if you do press the vinyl down nice and tightly and do it while the eggs are still warm a perfectly crisp imprint will be left when you peel off the silhouette. (Sorry for the grainy photo this one was taken late at night).
The one on the left was dipped in the tea and the one on the right dipped in the coffee.
Lillie, of course, wanted to make her eggs pink!
Actually she had fun dipping them in all the colors and then adding stickers. =)
Or if you don't want to make eggs these little silhouettes are cute for other little accents on your Easter table.
Also, we will be announcing the winner of our Love Is pillow covers tomorrow and they will be available in our shop again then too!
And we are going to be hosting another Link Party on Monday! This time it will be for anything about EASTER!!!!!! I can't wait to see what you all have to share!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Silhouette Easter Eggs for our Dining Room Table
This past weekend Lillie and I made tons and tons and tons of Easter eggs! We tried out a bunch of different things while playing around with silhouettes. These ones are my favorite and what we have on our dining room table. (I will show you how we made them either tomorrow or Thursday - hopefully tomorrow! And I will show you some of the other colors/styles then too. ) Although I love Easter, I have never been a huge Easter egg fan because they always seemed so "cutesy". I am so excited, though, with how these turned out.
This is Jon's place setting (and mine is similar):
And then this is what Lola's (and Lillie is similar):
These little cutouts will be available along with some vinyl ones so that you can make eggs as soon as we get more vinyl in. We are very impatiently waiting for it to arrive. As soon as it does we will have the vinyl ones as well as the paper ones available. We are hoping the vinyl will arrive today so that it can be cut this afternoon and we can have them for sale by tomorrow.
I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday! I'll hopefully be back tomorrow with lots more Easter eggs!

Two New Easter Downloadable Prints and a New Paisley Pillow
I am so excited! Jason has gotten some of our new equipment put together and we are one-step closer to being able to produce much larger quantities than before and to finally be able to actually start producing some different types of products that have been in the idea stages for months and months! It is probably not going to be until summer that we have everything really working but I am so excited about all of the possibilities now that we are in the much larger workspace.
In the meantime I have finished decorating for Easter at our house. I took tons and tons of pictures yesterday but only had time get a couple ready for a post last night. I thought I would show you this little mirrored chest and the two new Easter downloadable prints. Hopefully tomorrow I will get some more pictures done and will show you some of the Easter eggs we made over the weekend and how we used them in our dining room. And I hope to have a step-by-step post on how we made some of our eggs as well as pictures of our whole downstairs. If only there were a few more hours in each day... Oh well, I will post them as I make my way through them all.
And this one is available in both this purple color:
Along with this more neutral color:
And although it doesn't really go with this post, I thought I would mention we have a new Reagan Pillow Cover now available in a pretty blue paisley print!
I hope you all have a wonderful Monday! I can't wait to show you some Easter eggs - hopefully tomorrow!
