Happy Monday! Because the girls and I were under the weather I have mostly been working on chalkboard art this past week. We will have the one shown here in our kitchen (later in this post) available tomorrow and a St. Patrick's Day one available early next week, and then the Wuthering Height's one and an Easter one will be available very soon too! I will try to get a tutorial up next week on how to take one of the the large engineering chalkboard prints and frame it so that you can switch the art out as you like. We have quite a few other exciting things I hope to share with you all in the coming weeks, but in the meantime here are some photos of our kitchen. We haven't done anything to it so it doesn't really look any different than the last time we showed it, but I don't take pictures of it all that often so thought I would share some today.
You can see our lovely new fish tank in the background... (they kind of ruin my vignette =) but the girls sure do love them!)
We have the poster sized download of this chalkboard art available in our shop now and will have some prints available tomorrow! For those of you who missed our first print, "I Love You All the Way to God and Back" we restocked them last night!
I hope you all have a fabulous week!

I love your kitchen! Where did you get your rug? Its perfect for my kitchen!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It was actually my mom's but it didn't look quite right in their house so she gave it to me. I was thrilled because it works PERFECT in our kitchen! She got it at Home Decorators Collection.
DeleteBeautiful! I would love to see more pictures of the room next to it! Fish tank and all. You do beautiful work in your home!
ReplyDeleteThanks! You can find lots and lots of pictures of our family room in quite a few different posts dedicated to our family room: http://dearlillieblog.blogspot.com/search/label/family%20room

ReplyDeleteThanks! It was actually my mom's but it didn't look quite right in their house so she gave it to me. I was thrilled because it works PERFECT in our kitchen! She got it at Home Decorators Collection.
DeleteI love your kitchen! We are about to renovate ours... My kitchen lay-out is almost exactly like yours except we have walls closing it in and appliances in different spots. We are going to be knocking out the walls to open it up and swapping appliances around for a better flow. I was thinking about doing your same lay-out, but wasn't sure of how it would look or if it would even fit. Seeing your kitchen today has made me excited! It looks great and just what I wanted! Do you know the width of your kitchen wall with the closet, fridge, cabinets and stove? Looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I don't know what it is exactly but I would guess somewhere between 15-18 feet.
DeleteI just luv your kitchen Jennifer!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Here's to a wonderful week.
Cheers, Gee
I love your kitchen!
ReplyDeleteLove your kitchen - and happy the girls have new fish. It's neat.
ReplyDeleteWe kept a 250 gallon salt water tank for YEARS, so I kinda get it!
Hugs.
I don't know what it is about your house, but i just love everything about it. It just looks like "home" to me. I never get tired of staring at the photos of all the rooms. That "Wonderful World" chalkboard print is my favorite... and i love that great rug in front of the sink!

DeleteYou house is so warm and welcoming - a real home!Destiny
ReplyDeleteLove your kitchen! Is that the original color of the cabinets or are they painted? If they are painted, what color did you use?
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yes, we painted them Ballet White by Benjamin Moore.
DeleteI love your house !!! Just beautiful
ReplyDeleteLoving the chalkboard art! Such a great idea to offer your gorgeous art in this way.
ReplyDeleteLovely kitchen- and I adore the chalkboard art!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Where is your kitchen rug from???
ReplyDeleteThanks! It was actually my mom's but it didn't look quite right in their house so she gave it to me. I was thrilled because it works PERFECT in our kitchen! She got it at Home Decorators Collection.
DeleteIts so nice and neat...I love a clean kitchen ( mine has needed a maid since I opened the stores). I do love that houndstooth check rug as well. And the pink fish tank!! (don't tell me you didn't think of painting it white) It all looks great!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you have time for anything two stores! And haha - I tried sooooo hard to get just the tiny little basic glass circular fish bowl but of course the man working there told me (with Lillie and Lola listening intently) that the fish would die in that one in just a few days and needed this lovely filtered one which was actually even cheaper than the glass bowls. The girls were horrified that the fish might die in the glass bowl so of course that didn't give me much of an option - ugh! Haha! I originally thought we were going to put it up in Lillie's room so I figured I could handle the hot pink if it was out of sight most of the day. There really wasn't a safe spot for it up there thought so it ended up right smack in the middle of our living area - lucky me! Haha!
DeleteHow did you do the chalkboard? I want to do it! Did you use one of your prints or free hand?
ReplyDeleteErincyoung (at) yahoo.com
I freehanded the one on the side of the the island. Then I photographed that image and brought it into photoshop and turned it into something we could offer as a download and print. http://www.dearlillie.com/category/chalkboard-art
DeleteI love the picture garland over the doors-do you now keep that up year long and not just for Christmas?
ReplyDeleteYes, I never took it down. It's been up there for over a year now. I have switched out some of the photos, though! =)
DeleteJennifer, I have always loved your kitchen...well, your whole house, really! :) I saw you've been pinning pictures of grey cabinets and I think that would look fabulous in your space! Perhaps a shade darker than the wall?
ReplyDeleteYour hot pink fish tank cracked me up...would the girls be OK with fish in a pretty apothecary jar? :)
Thank you! Yes, I have been pinning lots of gray cabinets - not for our kitchen, though, for another kitchen! =) Hopefully I will be able to share some more info about that here on the blog soon.

LOVE your new downloads!! Would love to see the "mary had a little lamb" from the baby shower as a chalkboard print or "twinkle, twinkle, little star"! Your work is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI am planning on making the Mary Had a Little Lamb as a download as soon as I can photograph the original chalkboard properly. It is up in Jamie's nursery so next time I visit that's on my list of things to do! =) When I photographed it at the shower it wasn't with the idea of turning it into a print or download so I didn't take any pictures at the exact angle I needed. =(
DeleteI will keep Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star in mind for the future! =)
Beautiful pictures of your kitchen! I love the fresh flowers and fruit... the perfect way to freshen up your kitchen for springtime!
ReplyDeleteHi there! Your kitchen is gorgeous and I'm curious as to what the name of the grey you used? Love the chalkboard at the end of the cabinets too: ) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's Ashley Gray by Benjamin Moore.
DeleteHi! Love your kitchen! I was wondering if you knew what your countertops were?
ReplyDeleteHi! Love your kitchen! I was curious to know what your countertops are... THANKS!
ReplyDeleteThanks! They are granite!
DeleteHi- Love your kitchen!
ReplyDeleteWas wondering about your fruit hanging basket and those buckets. I saw you got them at ikea, where would I look (category) for them at the store.
thanks!
I love your kitchen! Do you know where I can find that plant hanger you have, with the fruit basket hanging from it? I would love to get one for my kitchen!
ReplyDeletehanks! It is from IKEA.

DeleteHi, it looks like your upper and lower cabinets are a different colour. Is that correct? If so, what colour are they? Thank you
ReplyDeleteThey are actually the same color - we used Benjamin Moore's Ballet White for them.
DeleteHi, I love your kitchen and am thinking of painting my cabinets as well (they are solid wood, but ugly and old). Were yours stained or varnished? Did you strip them or sand them before painting. Thank you
ReplyDeleteHey! Where did you get that big ruler on your kitchen wall? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWe offer 3 different growth charts in our shop! You can find all them on this page: http://www.dearlillie.com/category/growth-charts
DeleteHey! Can you tell me where you purchased your curtains/rods? I have double doors going out to our backyard and have been looking for something similar. I'm addicted to your blog!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI am glad you like the blog! The curtains were from JCPenney. I don't think they make that exact set though, anymore. I just did a similar look in our new kitchen (haven't photographed it yet because I just put them up and then we had to unexpectedly leave town) and got those curtains from Ikea and the rods from Lowe's.
DeleteHi! Just love everything about your decorating!!! So inspiring that I will need to get right to work. ;) Where did you get the carpet that is under your table? I agree...I am addicted to your blog as well! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melissa! It's from Pottery Barn. We bought it on sale for our first home about 6 years ago.
DeleteSorry, not under the table (as there isn't one heehee), the one where your couch is..in your family room off the kitchen.
