Just popping in to let you know our hand-painted oversized "Enter His Gates" Signs will be available in our shop today at 10AM EST. We think this works great for the fall with Thanksgiving coming but is also a great verse to have up as a reminder year round. You can find size info and other details on the product page.

Jason's Living Room (Before and "Almost" After)
Although it's not quite done Jason's living room is almost finished. This room had great bones - we loved the fireplace and french doors. We really just had to paint (Lillie and Lola of course loved the "pink" walls but Jason was not as big a fan) and then add well, pretty much everything. Ha!
Shortly after moving in my parent's helped Jason paint the walls Galveston Gray and then Jamie painted the trim white and we painted the doors black. And right when Jason moved in he bought Jamie and Josh's old IKEA couch off of them. After that the room stayed like that for almost a year. During the winter we added the rug and some gray chairs from Joss and Main and the lamps from Target seeing how there weren't any overhead lights. And then this summer we fianlly got around to adding some more finishing touches. We were really watching our budget in this room and were quite excited to be able to use store credit at Joss and Main to get this really cool industrial looking coffee table for just $7 - yay! We also found this mirror in the garage that the previous owner had left so we figured we would try it above the fireplace. Even though it wasn't necessarily what we would have chosen for the space you can't beat free! We built the shelves and made the Notre Dame Sign (you can read more about those both here), and then added the little side chair from HomeGoods and little table from Target.
The main thing we have left to work on is this wall that you can sort of see in this picture. We are on the hunt for a piece for below the TV and then the TV needs to be moved lower (that's what happens a TV gets hung without any female supervision...haha!)

Jason's Hallway
Sorry! This post was supposed to go up several days ago but our internet went out (which sadly happens quite often - ugh!) Fortunately it's back up and running again finally so here are the images from Jason's hallway.
I couldn't find any before pictures but basically it was just yellowy cream walls with yellowy cream trim and a yellowy cream door. Before we got up there for the summer, Jason did quite a bit of patchwork to the walls and then Jamie painted the trim and doors so all I had to do was paint the walls and hang a few things. We didn't really want to spend practically any money on the hallway so we used paint we already had - I think it was called Rockport Gray and a board we already had along with some hooks we found from when we used to sell wood signs a few years ago. So, we were able to make the coat rack for free which was nice. And we already had the IKEA frames so we just added two new photos to them and then made a sign for above that coat rack and that was about it. And I am excited that we will have more of these signs available in our shop later this week.

Some Finishing touches to Lillie and Lola's Old Fashioned New England Bedroom
While we were up visiting our family this summer we added some touches to the girls' room. I took these pictures in a huge rush the last day there when the lighting wasn't that great so they aren't that crisp but you can at least get a feel for some of the things we added. We did most of the work on making over this room over Memorial Day weekend (you can read that post here) so this summer just added a few little touches in here like the rug, the trunks at the ends of the beds and the silhouette of each of the girls above each bed. There isn't an overhead light in this room but we had this little plug-in chandelier that has been just sitting in a closet since we moved a year ago. (It used to be in the little window seat area in Lillie's room in our townhouse). I figured seeing how it wasn't being used it couldn't hurt to try it up here. I don't love how it looks but it's nice now having a light. The plug it's hooked into is one of those ones that turns on and off with the switch right when you enter the room so it works just like a regular overhead light. I think I will paint it so that it stands out a bit more.
We cut out silhouettes of the girls and just hung them in some old frames that I got at Hobby Lobby years ago and weren't being used anymore. I still really want to move that piece between the beds out to the hallway and replace it with something that will go better in this room style-wise but so far I haven't had any luck and it was functional having this in here for now. The girls kept all the baskets full of there things.
My mom recently bought these same trunks for the ends of the beds in her guest room. I saw them when I was last visiting and thought they would be perfect for in here so we copied her and Jason picked up two to add in here. I love the natural element they add to the room and they are so practical for storage. I'm actually pondering buying a set for the girls' room here at home. They aren't really sturdy but for the price they are a great storage piece!
You can find more images from this side of the room in this post here.

Happy Sunday!
Just popping in to wish you a Happy Sunday!
Have a fabulous rest of your weekend! I'll be back this week with more updates to Jason's house. And now that we are back home I am busy working on our dining room. We moved our dining table back out to the porch and now am attempting to make a more substantial table for our dining room. Hopefully it will work - haha! You can follow along on Instagram where I will probably show some peeks into the progress.
