A Beautiful Evening

As many of you know I am in love with Colonial Williamsburg. We take Lillie down there at least once a day and some days twice. My favorite part of the day is after dinner when we take her down there once the heat is starting to wear off and the sun is starting to set and let her run around and pet the "dog dogs" and check out the "horsies". It is just so beautiful and I pinch myself wondering how we were so blessed to get to live here. Here are some pics from one night earlier this week.

Carlin and Gerard

guest post by my sister, Jamie Druke

As Jenni mentioned in a recent post, blogging and Etsy have provided many opportunities to meet some pretty awesome people. Making wedding paraphernalia has an added benefit: I get to be involved in one of the most important days of their life! Okay, so maybe I just make a ring bearer pillow or a pillow and pomander set or a bridal clutch for most of my Etsy brides, but once in a while I get to work with a bride over a period of time on multiple wedding items. By the time I'm done, I feel like I know the bride and wish I could attend the nuptials! So obviously I was thrilled when I finally got to see my items in someone's wedding. Today I wanted to share pictures of the first bride whom I worked with on multiple custom orders. Carlin was so much fun to get to know and work with--a great communicator with a wonderful vision for her day. She gave me the idea of creating this beautiful bridal bouquet, and she had the patience to wait through many convos and samples, changes and tweaks, until we finally had the finished product. Here is a picture of the beautiful bride on her wedding day with her bouquet, and a close-up of the bouquet itself:

Her bridesmaids carried coordinating pomanders:

And the groomsmen wore rosette boutonnieres, much like the one her groom is wearing here:

Congratulations, Carlin and Gerard! Best wishes to you and your new family!

A special thank you to Emily Payne for taking the time to send us all of these gorgeous photos and more!

Our Big Give-Away!!!!!

In honor of several big milestones here at Dear Lillie we have decided to do a bigger give-away than normal for May. In the past couple of weeks we hit the 1000 "favorite" mark, the 500 sales mark on our Etsy site, and the 150 follower mark here on our blog, so we have decided to give the lucky winner a
$100 gift certificate
to our Etsy shop. You can use it towards any of the items in our shop!
We will announce the winner of this give-away on Saturday, May 15th.

So, how can you enter this giveaway?

It is simple:

1) Make a comment letting us know which item(s) are your favorite - 1 Entry (please limit to just one comment per day; you can comment each day, though, if you would like)

2) Mention this giveaway with a link on your Facebook page: 1 Entry (in order for it to count as an entry, please write "Facebook"as its own comment in the comment section)

3) Become a follower - 2 Entries (in order for it to count as an entry, please write "follower" as its own comment in the comment section, and make sure to do it two times so it will count as two extra entries for you, or if you are already a follower, make sure to write "follower" also as a comment two times)

4) Mention this giveaway on your own blog and include a photo of one of our items and link to our giveaway, - 2 Entries (Again for this to count make sure to write "blog" two different times as comments.)

In case you are wondering why in the world you have to comment each time you blog or if you become a follower, it is because we use the number of comments to plug into the random number generator and that is how we know what number to plug in and who matches up with it - hope that makes sense.

Also, if you have a blocked blogger profile please leave your e-mail address when you enter so that we can contact you. For everyone with an open profile or who we know, then you don't need to worry about that part.

Good luck to you all and we will announce the winner on May 15th!
Also don't forget about our tutu give-away that Tatertots and Jello is hosting right now and the one that Ruffles and Stuff is hosting for one of our Adeliene dresses on Tuesday.
