I didn't really get any good shots of these little books but they were a fun little addition to the party. We used them in the teacups at each setting and then hung them from a branch in the corner - I am disappointed I didn't get ANY usable shots of that! =( I thought I would still show you all how we made them, though, because they were so easy and inexpensive. You just need cardstock, some old book pages, a stapler and some double-stick tape.
1) Just like for yesterday's banner tutorial, we ripped the pages out of the book and then used a ruler to tear them - this provides a softer look than cutting them.
2) We also did some of the ripping by hand to make it look a bit more authentic.
3.) Next we ripped them in half.
4). After that we stacked them up and folded them over.
5). Then we opened it back up and staples the pages together at the fold.
6). Then we printed out the covers on cardstock and cut them out. (You can download the covers a little further down in this post if you want).
7) Then using a piece of double-stick tape we tape the book covers onto the book pages.
Once they are made have fun displaying them!
If you would like to use these fronts just click on the image below and it will open in a new window in a much larger size that you can print. Just cut along the lines and then fold each one in half!
I didn't do a tutorial for the bookmarks as they seem pretty self-explanatory but I did include a printable below that has the first paragraph from Sense and Sensibility on it. We printed that on cream cardstock and then added it to the bottom half of the bookmarks.
Just click on the picture below and it will open larger in a new window and then you can just download and print.

Alrighty, now it is time for our weekly GIVEAWAY!
This week we are giving away one Jane Austen Pillow Cover!
So how can you win this pillow cover?
The giveaway rules are the same as always:
All you have to do is leave a comment on this post!
You
don't have to have a blog to enter, either. If you aren't a
blogger, just enter a comment and then where it says "comment as"
scroll down near the bottom and click on anonymous. However, if you
do that, make sure to leave your e-mail address so we can
confirm that you are the winner. If we draw the name of someone
who doesn't leave any identifying information we will simply draw
a new name. Make sure to check back here on the blog to collect
your prize!
You can comment each day if you would like to up your chances!
For extra entries become a follower of our blog, twitter
and/or like our facebook page!
Just write "follower" as a second comment so it counts as an entry, and "twitter"
and "facebook" as their own entries.
We are going to run this contest a bit longer than normal so that I will have time to settle back in at home before worrying about shipping out a package. Because of that you can enter this contest through next Thursday and then Friday we will announce the winner.
Love the tutorials! And thank you for sharing the book covers!!
