My Tiny Not So Great Attempt at Red and a Reindeer Pillow

My lovely little Lillie informed me as we started decorating a little while ago that she was pretty sure Christmas was supposed to be red and green, not all white. Although she is not perfect =), I have to say she said it in the sweetest little voice and seemed somewhat concerned - as if possibly I didn't know this fact. So, I decided seeing how we had already finished the downstairs and we were doing pink in her room that I would try to add a touch of red either in our bedroom or to the porch. Our new cranberry reindeer pillow was finished and ready to be photographed right before I started decorating our master bedroom so I thought I would try it in there first. Even though it was just a little touch I have to say it just wasn't me. I do really love the pillow though so I've decided I'm going to go with red out on our porch so I can use it there. I am hoping to get that done later this week. That's my last space left to decorate. So, this red lasted about ten minutes and then I settled for something a little more me which I will show you next week. And yes, I know, I had planned on painting my room Revere Pewter and still am planning on it but am going to hold off until the new year. There has just been so much going on these past few weeks that I can barely see straight. And due to the time of day I took these I had to crank my ISO WAY up so they are super grainy. Sorry! I wish I had taken the time to get my tripod out. Ugh!

The beautiful wreath is from Lynch Creek Farms. They have the most beautiful greenery. I will share more about them later this week!

The reindeer pillows are now for sale in our shop:

I also wanted to introduce you to our newest sponsor, Bloom, by Jenny Raulli.

She has a lovely blog with lots of ideas like this Christmas Cocoa Kit:

And also an Etsy shop full of fun party supplies and printable collections!
Head on over and check them out!

Hope you all are having a wonderful week! Be sure to check back soon (hopefully tomorrow) for a Christmas Giveaway.

Lil is just too cute, give her a big hug.

Take some time to chillax, too, lady or you will have a heart attack from stress!

  2. So funny that you couldn't keep red in your room very long, because I LOVE red. The pillow looks great! :)

  3. Awwwwww... that's so cute and sweet that Lillie thought that maybe you were being a little clueless about appropriate Christmas colors, and she was letting you down gently. Off to catch up on so many posts i've missed!

  4. Haha! So funny. I wish I could do everything neutral at my house. Adrienne would spill or color on something too fast for all that, though. I also made a stick arrangement in the living room. William put Christmas balls on it, too! I can't believe he thought of it and I didn't. Men. Sometimes they actually know what they're doing...

  6. I am with you on the red...it's my least favorite color, which is why you only find it in my house at Christmas. This is my first year doing a neutral tree and I really love it. Our whole dining room is neutral and coincidentally enough, my striped wall is revere pewter. I love that color!

  7. Jennifer - I agree on the red, in this room it just doesn't seem to speak to your style. I do love the pillow though and I'm looking forward to seeing it on the porch. :)

  10. I am with you... I love the red reindeer, but not in this room. I wonder what it would look like if the pillow was red and the reindeer white?? Hmmmm.... I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving! I don't know how you do what you do! I just have two trees up and they aren't even decorated!!! :-)

  11. I love the Prancer pillow. I'm surprised Lillie didn't want you to make them all with the sleigh and Santa. Your bedroom looks beautiful. The flowers and wreath are gorgeous. About your hot chocolate bar , is that hot chocolate powder in one of the glass jars? I usually just find packets. I need to find some more glass jars. I have a couple of the apothocary ones. Where did u find yours?

    1. Yes, we have two different jars with two types of hot cocoa. The smaller one is a "fancier" flavored kind and the other one is just god old swiss miss. They sell it in big cans/tubs (I'm not sure what they call them) at our grocery store right next to the packets.

  16. Very nice pillow. I'm with Lillie. I have to have some red and green with the white and silver I like. I find in my climate (MI) white is too anemic and washed out during our cold and dark winter season. I like whites during spring and summer though.

  17. That is so funny! My kids say the same thing so we decorate their room with crazy red and green as much as they want :) I love the pop of red with the reindeer, so so pretty! hope you are doing well, have a fabulous weekend with your gorgeous family.XO

  21. I love the red pillow and think you should leave it where it is! It gives a little life and personality to all the neutral. I love lots of color and find the all white a little clinical for my taste. The red warms it up and makes it a little more inviting for the holidays.
