Back Home

I hope you are all having a wonderful week! We just got home Sunday evening after being gone for the last month so we've been busy catching up on lots of things. I took tons and tons of photos while we were at Jason's house (we finished up the girls' bedroom and his office, and made lots of progress on the hallway and living room - which I am really excited about, and have some new products we made for his house that we will also be selling) but I am still sorting through the images and need to properly write up those posts so today I just thought I would share some images of our kitchen and living room with some of the flowers from our yard. I can't believe we are already mid-way through August and in just a couple weeks it will be time to start adding pumpkins and other fall items. Ahhh!

Here are all the paint colors and source information (including for items in this room that aren't actually seen in this post):

  7. Love the pops of orange. I have a question regarding your stove hood. You mentioned in an earlier post that it was custom made. I'd like to have something similar made for my kitchen (to replace built in microwave). I read that it is $3000 to $4000 - which I think is crazy expensive. Is that close to what you paid? Thanks.

  9. You have a beautiful home! I have been reading your blog for a long time and still can not get over how fast you transformed it with two young daughters to care for in the mix. That in and of itself inspires me!

I am getting ready to rid my house of all the stained trim and repaint. Would you consider giving some tips on how you painted your trim (priming, filling nail holes, taping off or not and painting)? I don't really care if it is the "professional" way to paint stained trim. I just want the easy, quick and whatever it takes to get this project behind me way!!!

I am sure I am not alone in all the readers you have in needing this kind of information. I just want pointers from someone like you who has got the job done!

    1. Thanks, Cheryl! We used the same process for our trim as we did on our doors, which you can read about here: http://dearlillieblog.blogspot.com/2013/08/painting-doors-and-changing-out-knobs.html
