I am so excited to share with you today about Soft Surroundings. I first heard of them last spring and quickly became entranced by their website and all of the beautiful items they carried. The second I saw this three-ring chest I fell in love with it and knew it would be the perfect piece to design our master bedroom around. I originally was planning on going with a charcoal gray in here but I ended up doing that in one of the guest rooms and used this gorgeous dresser as my starting off point for our master bedroom. I love that even though I would consider it a traditional piece, the rings add an updated twist. And the color is perfect. I was so excited when it arrived and it is especially nice to have one wall in our bedroom almost finished! I used items we already had around the house to display on the chest except for the tray - that was a fun clearance find. We are still working on the rest of the room. Since I took these photos we have added a rug (the rug from the family room in our last house - it's not a perfect fit, but the colors coordinate nicely in here) and some bedding. We are still waiting on our bed to arrive though. Our mattresses are currently on the floor which the girls think is great fun but I have to admit I am looking forward to having an actual bed again. And then once that comes I can figure out nightstands and something for the end of the bed. And then there's the light fixture and artwork and all sorts of other details to add. But for now here is what we have done and you can get a feel for the colors and overall feel of the room. (And I will have a source list at the bottom of this post).
This is what the wall looked like when we bought the house this past summer. Fortunately this room didn't have any wallpaper to deal with like two of the other bedrooms and bathrooms and the hallways and staircase had. It was pretty much a blank canvas.
And here is that wall now:
We moved a rug in here a day or two after I took these photos and that really helps warm the room up.
I absolutely love the gold trim and all of the detail work!
As I mentioned above, I am a huge fan of Soft Surroundings and their whole furniture line. It's based off of French Antiques. They have more than just furniture though, they have so many gorgeous home decor pieces from lamps and bedding to pillows including this Madison Pillow:
and their Helena Chair:
The beautiful slipcovered Tristan Chair:
This beautiful Bruges Secretary:
Disclosure: I have partnered with Soft Surroundings by trading store credit towards the three ring chest in exchange for advertising on my blog. We were so pleased with the whole experience and highly recommend them! Not only is the quality of my chest amazing their customer service is fabulous as well. It was an absolute pleasure to work with them!

I have been waiting for the reveal of this room since you bought your house. Love it so far and can't wait to see your bedding. With all of the snow this winter we decided to redo our master and have had no luck finding bedding, I know I will be inspired by yours after seeing this post...love it!!! Going to check out Soft Surroundings now. Jeni

ReplyDeleteI would never thnk of putting gray and gold tgether, but the dresser is stunning!! I love the pretty way you've accessorized it too!
ReplyDeleteI have their most AMAZING smocked burlap curtain panels in my living room (which they no longer carry but should try to again!!!). I discovered them from Thistlewood Farm blog. I have them pictured in my House Tour Part 1. I adore these curtain panels and will for a very long time-quality, weight, smocking is spot on!
ReplyDeleteSo happy you are able to work something out with Soft Surroundings - gorgeous company - gorgeous bedding too!!!!

Just gorgeous!!! I get their catalog but will definitely look at it more closely now!
ReplyDeletePerfect space in your master! I always wonder, do you use fresh flowers in all your rooms? They always look so perfect! And if they aren't, well, you fooled me!
ReplyDeleteThanks! The majority of the flowers are real. I use faux paperwhites, but love using real tulips and hydrangeas from Trader Joes and flowers from our yard!
DeleteJennifer, this is beautiful! I love Soft Surroundings? I have not purchased any furniture, however I have puechased their clothing and love it!
ReplyDeleteStunning start to your master bedroom! Love the chest & entire wall. Can't wait to see the rest!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dresser, love all the gold accents. Looking forward to see how you pull the rest of the room together. I knew that mirror seemed familiar to me, then you mentioned it was in your powder room;)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, gorgeous chest...Soft Surroundings definitely has some of the most beautiful home furnishings, accessories and not to mention clothing...The chest looks so beautiful in your room..I love the ring pattern.
ReplyDeleteI noticed you have white tulips in most of your photos which are absolutely beautiful, are they the real flower or are they faux?
ReplyDeleteThanks! They are real (they're from the grocery store).
DeleteSimply beautiful the whole room.
ReplyDeleteLove the round tray with the circular detail on the drawers. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! It is so elegant, and i love the way you styled the top too. The mirror is just perfect over the dresser, and as always your colors are amazing together!
ReplyDeleteCindy
hi there... absolutely love your room! can you tell me if the dresser is grayish, greenish, or blueish? :) It looks to be on the blue/gray side....but wondering if that is how it looks in person. thanks so much! -eileen
ReplyDeleteThanks, Eileen! Its such a hard color to describe! It definitely has blue, green, and gray in it, but I would say its more green than blue in real life.
DeleteAbsolutely gorgeous Jennifer!! I love Soft Surroundings too and that chest is perfect!!!
ReplyDeletei love this blog! Its great for ideas and have also purchased items off this blog!
ReplyDeleteDear Lillie is my favorite blog by far! I love her Talent and have purchased many of her beautiful items on her blog. I am so grateful I found it! Thank you for all your hard work and sharing your talents with us all!
ReplyDeletewith love, michell shaff
Love the tray! Did you find it at Home Goods recently? Was it in the bath section? Hoping to find one here in Vermont. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks! It is from Home Goods, but I found it right up front when I walked in, not in the bath section (I'm guessing that was just a temporary spot though, so I don't know where it is normally kept).
DeleteNo luck for me at Home Goods here. I found it online at Jay Companies. Probably a lot pricier than the one you found, but I liked it so much that I splurged!
ReplyDeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say that I recently discovered your blog and this dreamy bedroom "talked" to me immediately. It is so soft, so charming… I have never been a fan of grey, but the bedroom you created is absolutely beautiful. Love it!
