Autumn Sunroom at Bluestone Hill

I have a little bit of trouble with fall colors. I love them in other people's homes, and they seem so warm and cozy and get me all excited for pumpkin patches and apple picking, but they just don't seem to fit here. I love the season, but the deep, warm colors just leave me perplexed. So, thus far I have pretty much just decorated with white or pastel pumpkins and gourds and what we have in our yard, which is an endless supply of hydrangeas!

I made the wreath on the window with cut flowers from our yard:

The light was not ideal when I took these, but I have one day a week that I take my photos and I had a narrower window of time than normal on the day I took these, so I pretty much had to take what I could get, and I apologize for the harsh light.

  1. Looks lovely Jamie. I am with you on fall colors- I prefer more muted. May I ask how the paint finish is holding up on your IKEA wicker chairs. Mine are a bit odd and chipped.
    Thanks.

  4. Oh my goodness. Just lovey. I do like fall colors, but prefer to see them outside. The way Jamie has used the muted shades is just gorgeous.

  6. Hey Jenni...I am wondering if you have any suggestions for ceiling color? I love your style and my walls in my dining room are Chelsea Gray… I have a funky 2004 Tray Ceiling and I'm not sure what to do with it but I'm not crazy about the ultra pure white that I have on the ceiling right now... any advice would be awesome-sauce!😁

    1. Hi, Beth! Jenni likes to use Ceiling White by Benjamin Moore.

      Hope this helps!

  9. Wow this is so beautiful. I am just like You, and dont like the Dark colors in my home. But this is absolutely my kind of Fall decoration. I'm blown away from all the beautiful flowers and the stunning wreath. Thank you for all the lovely pictures.
