I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Not a whole lot has changed in this room since I last posted images of it but some people asked about the the Paige chairs (the oval backed ones that were in here before) being moved into the family room (you can see them on either side of the TV in the last post) and wondered what was in the dining room in their place. We basically just swapped these script chairs with them. The problem is that I like the Paige chairs better in both spots and don't really love these scripted ones in either but this is where they are staying at least for a few weeks =). They looked a little too busy in the family room now that we have the patterned rug in there. The painted piece under the TV has a pattern painted on the doors too so all of them mixed together was a little too much.
We moved the "May the Road..." sign in here as well for now although it's not going to be here permanently. Once I find a hutch for this spot the rolling cart will head up to the guest room/office and the sign probably will too. For now though it keeps this wall from being empty.
This time of year I think the room feels a little dull without all the added color that the spring and early summer flowers added in here. Although I do love cutting branches from our butterfly bushes this time of year they don't add as much color to this particular room as they do some of the others. With fall and winter coming though I think it will be fun to add some more color in here to brighten it back up a bit.

Here from Better After.... absolutely beautiful. Love the white pitchers, I have a thing for them. I'm adding your blog to my favs. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your home, it's beautiful! i only wish I could decorate like you. I have a couple of questions, the paint you use on the walls, is it Aura? Regal Select? What about the paint on the beadboard wallpaper? I bought some of the wallpaper but was unsure as to which pain to get for it. One last thing, I absolutely love your black interior doors, is there a tutorial? Ours are the builder grade white doors which I think are painted with oil based paint, so I would like to know how to go about painting them black and of course would like to know which type of paint you use for them too, is it Advance? Thank you so much and keep inspiring us with your wonderful blog!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! We use Aura--semigloss for all trim and doors, either matte or satin for the walls (we did several rooms in matte, but have started using satin a bit more lately). Our doors were bare wood when we moved it, so we didn't have to worry about painting over oil-based paint--just put the aura right on!
DeleteLOVE your style. Any idea on the source of your blinds?

Do you remember how the farm table was finished. It looks to be a mix of those two colors. Was one applied and distressed and then a second coat? Did you apply any poly on it after?
ReplyDeleteYour dining room is gorgeous! Do you happen to know the manufacture for your chandelier? I know it's from Savvy but wanted to look online as well. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhat color would you recommend painting a living room if you painted your dining room like this?
