Dressing up the Adeliene Dress

We have sold a lot of Adeliene dresses over the past couple of months. It is a fun dress, but it is also pretty casual. The actual dress fabric is a soft, comfy t-shirt type of fabric. The silk rosettes help dress it up, but it is still more of a casual dress than a "dressy" dress. I thought I would show you all some photos of one way to dress it up and accessories it a bit if you want to wear it for more of a formal occassion. Here it is in our newest color-way Lilac on Black! I just did this as a custom order for one of our incredibly sweet customer's named Maureen, and loved it so much have decided to make it our newest option! By adding a satin belt and clipping on a rosette clip it makes it so much dressier. I think that is one of the things I like so much about the Adeliene dress. It is a fun, simple dress when worn as is, but it can also be alot of fun to accessorize it! We have a bride who is having her bridesmaids wear the Pebble and Slate on Asphalt version of this with worn leather belts! I cannot wait to see pictures of that! I love adding belts!

And here is it plain. Still cute and comfy!

Also, we have our new favorite tutu, The Audrey Hepburn, about to debut but are waiting to take photos of it.

A Picnic and Facebook (And Another Entry for the Dress Give-Away)

First, we are back on Facebook! When we first started Dear Lillie we opened up a facebook account. Personally, I rather dislike Facebook, but we were told it would be good for business. Well, we promptly forgot our password and hadn't been able to log on since! Haha! The other day it came to Jamie and we were finally able to get back on! So, we are going to try to do a better job of posting on there, although our blog will continue to be our main form of updating you all on everything that is Dear Lillie!

So, if you would like to have another entry into our give-away for our Adeliene or Stella Dress please become a "fan" or "like" us, or whatever it is now, on facebook for another entry! (Just write Fan FB on a comment). Click here for our Facebook page!

We had planned on going on a picnic Sunday afternoon, but it rained, so we ended up up going yesterday. It was an absolutely beautiful day and we had so much fun! Here are a few pictures:

My little monkey

I see Birdieeeeeees!

Mmmmmm....the best part of the picnic - brownies!

Covered in dirt - this was actually after I cleaned up her face! I should have taken a picture before!

Don't forget to enter our Give-Away!

And check back as later this week we will be hosting our first ever Dear Lillie CONTEST as well as giving you a few updates on everything that is going on here. We have a lot of changes coming up business-wise and will fill you all in here soon.

Also, we are closing down our Etsy shop for Memorial Day weekend starting at some point on Thursday and will reopen Sunday evening just to let you all know ahead of time!

Sprucing up our Master Bath

Okay, so first let me preface this by saying this was not a bathroom remodel. This was just a paint job and some decorating. If this were my dream house, I would design something completely different. It would include an antique dresser that I would use to put the sink in. The sink would have either a beautiful oil-rubbed bronze faucet or an antique faucet and I would most definitely have a cast-iron tub. I love our home and am so thankful for it, but it doesn't always reflect my true taste. It ended up a bit more shabby chic than I was going for, but oh well. We simply added some paint and accessories to spruce it up a bit. Without a big overhaul, there isn't much you can do with all of the lovely builder basics =(, but it was still fun to try to make it a bit prettier. Pretty much it was just paint on the walls (I LOVE the color and will definitely use it again) and cabinets and then we bought the mirror at an antique mall, a few $6 jars from TJMaxx, and a couple of new towels at Target and then everything else we already had. The flowers are from the Colonial Williamsburg Farmer's Market

Here is a finished shot:

Here are a couple before - this was after the big huge sheet of mirror was taken down.

Little helper Lillie!

And here are a bunch more "after" shots:

I plan on switching the wedding photo with a black silhouette of Lillie in an ivory frame, but didn't have time to finish her silhouette this weekend.
Here are some pictures of our master bedroom that go with the bathroom. The wall color looks quite different in the photos - it is a charcoal color that is a few shades darker than the bathroom.

I keep most of my necklaces on my Dear Lillie dress form.

I think that's enough photos for one day! Haha!

A Few Decorating Pics and Princy n' Paris

Good morning! This will be a quick post but I wanted to share a couple of pics of our bathroom. I need to hang one more thing and then I want to get some fresh flowers from the Farmer's Market on Saturday and then I will share the rest of the pictures. Lillie and I went to a cute little flower shop yesterday to get some fresh flowers (after trying the grocery store and Trader Joe's who were both cleaned out) and the peonies were $8 a stem! Yikes. I don't miss living in Florence, but I do terribly miss our yard with all of the flowers I could go cut from it. I figured I would be patient seeing how we did our bathroom on a tiny budget and at the farmer's market last Saturday the peonies were $8 a bunch! I hope they will still have some this week!

I also wanted to share with you a wonderful Etsy shop, Princy n' Paris, and blog run by a incredibly sweet and talented woman who I have gotten to know over these past few months named Prencie! As you all know we host a lot of give-aways here on our blog. They are so much fun for us to do and we get quite excited about each one. You know what is even more fun than hosting a give-away, though? Winning one! I won my first give-away a couple of weeks ago on Prencie's blog! I was so excited! I had been admiring several pieces of hers and was so thrilled to win a $30 gift certificate to her shop! She is hosting another giveaway on her blog now so head on over and check it out!

I had a hard time deciding but went with the Vintage Girl, Little Women Flower Headband. I posted photos of Lillie wearing that this weekend (I will post one again in case any of you missed it). It is my absolute favorite. Lillie wore it on Saturday and I wore it clipped onto a necklace on Sunday and plan on wearing it again today! We also got Lillie a little Tiffany bloom clip which she is wearing in the rest of these pics
And here are a couple photos from Prencie's shop.

Isn't her daughter, Paris, just the cutest thing?

I think this would be so beautiful for a wedding!

4) Mention this giveaway on your own blog and include a photo of one of our items and link to our giveaway, - 2 Entries (Again for this to count make sure to write "blog" two different times as comments.)

In case you are wondering why in the world you have to comment each time you blog or if you become a follower, it is because we use the number of comments to plug into the random number generator and that is how we know what number to plug in and who matches up with it - hope that makes sense.

Also, if you have a blocked blogger profile please leave your e-mail address when you enter so that we can contact you. For everyone with an open profile or who we know, then you don't need to worry about that part.

Good afternoon, everyone! I want to share with you all some absolutely beautiful photographs taken by Jenni Roseland of Rosie J. Photography of her darling daughter, Lola. Little Lola is wearing one of our Dear Lillie tutus. Jenni won this tutu on a recent giveaway that the Tatertots and Jello blog hosted for us. I saw a few of these on her blog and couldn't wait for her to send us some. They are just such beautiful photographs. I think the first one is my favorite, but I can't decide. They are all so lovely!

Isn't Lola a doll? To see more of Jenni's work visit her Rosie J Photography blog and to read more about her and her family check out her personal, Family of Four blog!
