The Last of the Christmas Decorating (Switching up the Mantel)

Just like the pom pom wreath we made for our guest bedroom we made one for above our fireplace too. This one is a little bit smaller and has fewer pom poms but they are a little bit bigger and fluffier (I used a slightly more expensive yard on this one that had some wool in it). And then we moved the girls' stockings down here. We got them last year from Pottery Barn Kids. The little mercury glass lights are from World Market and the paperwhites are from Savvy Home and Garden. Adding this wreath and switching out the stockings helped lighten up the living room a little bit so I feel like it goes a little bit better with the kitchen part of the room and the snowballs we have on our hot cocoa station. And so with just a few days to spare the Christmas decorating is officially done - haha!

    1. Thanks! I'm not sure what the brand was, but I bought it at Michael's. It was the only brand they had in that color though at our store.

  8. You have an amazing talent for home decor and photography. I love following your blog. Was wondering if you use real or artificial plants/ flowers in your vases around your house? Where do you get them?

    1. Thank you! Most of the flowers are real. The paperwhites in all of our Christmas decor however are all faux.

  10. You said you painted the fireplace Winters Gate. What about the brick . Is the brick and grout painted with the same paint ? Is it semi gloss? I love the way yours looks and I want to paint mine the same. Your house is gorgeous. Love your decorating. Are all the walls painted the same in family room and kitchen?

    1. Thanks, Donna! It's basically a 50/50 mix of the paint and water, and we just lightly put on two coats. You can find all of the details in the post and in the comments section below it: http://dearlillieblog.blogspot.com/2013/09/our-whitewashed-brick.html
