It's funny, neither Jon nor I are really what would be considered "animal people", but both of our girls absolutely love, love, love them! Down in Colonial Williamsburg there are quite a few different pastures with horses. We visit them regularly and Lola is growing to love it as much as Lillie. It's so funny watching her hyperventilate and squeal and wave her arms wildly as we get closer to them. Lillie was like that too when she was a baby. They get so disappointed if we go and they aren't there. Fortunately there are quite a few different places in CW where we can go to find them - some of them just require a much longer walk. =) We often bring apples or carrots for them. Lillie normally ends up eating half of her apple before handing it over.
And here are some old pictures of Lillie with the horses.
In this one she's just a few months older than Lola is now.
And this was shortly before she turned two:
And this was last year just a couple of weeks before Lola was born.
Precious pictures! Happy Weekend! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteso sweet, girls are beautifull ;-)
ReplyDeleteAww, it's wonderful that they both love animals so much. I grew up with horses and can still remember running out on my grandparent's farm to give the horses fresh apples from their tiny orchard!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day!
Kat
Wonderful moments to remember and such beautiful girls.

ReplyDeleteSuch sweet pictures!!
ReplyDeleteYour girls are so precious. Watch those horses, a friend of mine is missing a chunk of his ear, due to some rude horse.
ReplyDeletethose horses are so sweet! I would have been scared they would gobble her up... what precious photos and moments!
ReplyDeleteThose are excellent shots!
ReplyDeleteI grew up with a best friend who had a gorgeous horse named Pintac. She named her him Pintac because he was born on Catnip Hill.....and catnip spelled backwards..............ok I digress.
ANYWAY, I used to walk to her stable - not in our residential area, a bit of a walk back in the day when it was not a big deal or seemed far, haha. I helped her sometimes clean the stall, feed, freshen water, etc. She had some rabbits too - she was an animal person. I am not, either. I have a rescue cat and sometimes that is even a bit much for this neat clean freak.
We used to ride sometimes. There were other horses boarded there too and we could each have a horse, it was so much fun. I haven't ridden since I was a young girl. I hope your two end up riders, that would be experienced they will never forget.
Happy Mother's Day weekend! Hugs!
Beautiful pictures. I love Williamsburg. We're bringing our daughter there for the 1st time this Aug.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. Your daughters are so lucky to have these GORGEOUS pictures of themselves to look back on.
ReplyDeleteJennifer, These are priceless.........Lillie always looks like she is talking with the horses!
ReplyDeleteJennifer, Let me just start by saying I love your blog. It is one that I check every day and love reading. I think you have the prettiest little girls I have ever seen. I also love CW. We were there many years ago when our boys were young, and it is someplace I would really love to visit again. You are so lucky you live right there! This post touched me especially because I too am an animal lover, although never had any kind of a relationship with a horse. I think it is just precious that your girls love them so much, and you are lucky you have such great pictures that you generously share with all your readers.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your sweet comment, Debby! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
DeleteThose are such darling pics of Lilly getting bigger with the horses~do you think she looks like little Lorelei? Its very nice that you take them to see the horses~I am sure you might rethink it one day when you are asked to buy one...lol
ReplyDeleteHaha - yeah, I think we are going to be in trouble if their love for horses continues to grow! =) It's funny you ask about them looking alike - until about a month ago I didn't think they girls looked alike at all! We often commented on how different they looked. Then little Lorelei finally started putting some weight on and now that her little cheeks are filling out I think I am finally seeing some similarities in their little faces!
DeleteSuch beautiful pictures, I grew up riding and have such wonderful memories! Happy Mothers day to you!
ReplyDeleteXO
