Farmhouse Holiday Series - Our Favorite Fall Recipe - Pumpkin Bread

We are so excited to be joining our host Kristen, from Ella Claire and so many of our other favorite bloggers as part of a Farmhouse Holiday Series this year. We hope that you will enjoy over the next couple of months as we share glimpses into our homes throughout the fall and the holiday season. We are starting this fun series off with our favorite fall recipe and some photos of our kitchen.

Although I have quite a few fall recipes that I love, my absolute favorite is my mom's pumpkin bread! I loved every fall growing up when it would start to get cool and she'd make it for us. We would pretty much devour it - haha! Lillie and Lola love helping me make it now and the last couple of years have enjoyed making it for some of our neighbors too!

PUMPKIN BREAD
*Major Leonard Keep*

4 eggs
3 cups sugar
1 cup oil
2 cups pumpkin (we use 1 15oz can although it's a little less than 2 cups)
3+1/3 cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1+1/2 tsp. salt
*1 tsp. cinnamon (I use 3 tsps.)
1 tsp. nutmeg
2/3 cup water

Beat eggs until light. Add sugar, oil, and pumpkin. Beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients with water to egg mixture. Bake in 4 small loaf pans at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes; or two regular sized loaf pans for 60-70 minutes.

We found some of these adorable little mini baking dishes at HomeGoods and used them to make several mini loafs. They were so cute!

And here they are all cooked and ready to be eaten. Which they were just a few minutes after I took these photos.

We don't usually do much in our kitchen for autumn except add a pumpkin or two and usually a few clipped branches from outside. I like keeping it simple and just adding natural touches of autumn here and there.

That's it for our kitchen! Tomorrow we will be back with some images of some simple touches we added to our dining room and den:

And be sure to check out all these other amazing bloggers that are a part of this Holiday Farmhouse Series and head on over to see their favorite fall recipes:
